6. Staff structure

Full-time employees

As at 31 December 2022, the association had 94 full-time and part-time employees (excluding interns, volunteers and board members). If the employees are converted into full-time positions, IN VIA had 70 full-time positions as at the reporting date.

Volunteer employees

The station mission employs a total of around 125 volunteers and around 50 volunteer telephone interpreters. There are around 130 volunteers in the migration department. Including the volunteers in youth housing and in the association as a whole, a total of around 330 people are involved with IN VIA.

The General Assembly elects the IN VIA Council as a supervisory body.

Various specialist competences are represented on the IN VIA Council. The election is for 3 years. The IN VIA Council is accountable to the annual General Assembly.

The IN VIA Council appoints the full-time Executive Board and monitors the business activities.

12. Structures/processes in the area of finance

Budget planning, controlling and accounting are carried out using the Contura software from Geteco. Experienced, specialised employees work in the finance and grants department. Allocation to facilities and projects is carried out using cost centres/types. 

As a non-profit organisation, IN VIA München e.V. is not obliged to prepare annual financial statements in accordance with the provisions of the German Commercial Code (HGB). Nevertheless, for reasons of transparency, the association has undertaken in its articles of association to prepare annual financial statements and have them audited by an independent auditing company.

The audit is conducted in accordance with German generally accepted standards for the audit of financial statements promulgated by the Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer (IDW), the provisions of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and the guidelines of the Association of German Dioceses (VDD).

To date, an unqualified audit opinion has always been issued.

13. Salary

Payment is made in accordance with the Caritas Association's labour contract guidelines and their additions and amendments. An employee representative body (MAV) is active in accordance with the MAVO.
