IN VIA München

IN VIA's Co-operation partners

IN VIA – Specialist organisation within the Caritas Association

IN VIA is a recognised specialist association within the German Caritas Association and IN VIA Munich is a specialist association of the Caritas Association in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising.

The Caritas Association is one of six umbrella organisations in which the independent welfare services in Germany are largely organised. As the umbrella organisation, the Diözesancaritasverband represents around 380 Catholic specialist associations and organisations of various sizes in addition to its own sponsor areas. What they have in common is their affiliation to the Catholic Church and their identification with Christian values. They are also united by the application of the Caritas labour contract guidelines (AVR-Caritas).

IN VIA Munich - Member of IN VIA Bavaria, IN VIA Germany and ACISJF - IN VIA

Together with four other local/diocesan associations, IN VIA Munich is a member of the IN VIA regional association in Bavaria. IN VIA Bavaria represents the interests of IN VIA at state level, in politics and in a large number of committees. It also supports the work of its members in various ways.

The IN VIA regional office is located at Maistraße 5, 80337 Munich

There are ten IN VIA diocesan associations and 17 IN VIA local and district associations in Germany. They are active in over 70 cities.

The IN VIA national office is located at Karlstr. 40, 79104 Freiburg

IN VIA is also organised internationally in order to be able to better advocate for the concerns and interests of girls and young women.

At the end of the 19th century, a large migration movement of young women occurred. They were looking for work and migrated across national borders. In order to offer these women protection and help, organisations were founded in several countries, including the Marian Girls' Protection Association in Munich in 1895. In 1897, German, Swiss and French girls' protection associations joined forces to form the International Catholic Association of Girls' Protection Associations.

Today the network is called „Association Catholique Internationale de Services pour la Jeunesse Féminine“  (ACISJF - IN VIA)
